ASIC appoints new Chairs and members to the Markets Disciplinary Panel
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has appointed Victoria Weekes as Chair and Anthony Brittain as Deputy Chair of the Markets Disciplinary Panel (MDP), alongside three new members. The MDP operates as a peer review body that independently determines whether infringement notices should be issued for alleged breaches of market integrity rules by market participants. ASIC thanked five retiring members for their contributions while emphasizing that the panel's expertise ensures fair and effective financial markets through outcomes such as financial penalties and remedial measures.
