ASIC has banned NSW solicitor and accountant Christopher Malcolm Edwards from providing financial services for 10 years due to his unlicensed operation of a financial services business. Edwards arranged for clients to invest in debentures issued by companies he controlled, creating a significant conflict of interest and violating Australian Financial Services licensing requirements. The ban, effective 15 September 2025, prevents him from controlling or performing functions in any financial services entity while he appeals the decision to the Administrative Review Tribunal.
