Mecca companies pay $594,000 in infringement notices for failing to lodge financial reports on time

ASIC issued infringement notices totaling $594,000 to three Mecca group companies for allegedly failing to lodge audited financial reports for the year ended 28 December 2024 within the statutory timeframe. This enforcement action is part of ASIC's 2026 priority to combat financial reporting misconduct through data-driven surveillance, which previously identified 151 non-compliant companies in 2025. ASIC Commissioner Kate O’Rourke emphasized that directors must proactively ensure timely lodgement to allow creditors to make informed decisions, while auditors are reminded to notify the regulator of suspected non-compliance.
