Former finance director Brendan Gunn pleads guilty to dealing with proceeds of crime

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions prosecuted former Mormarkets finance director Brendan Gunn for dealing with $181,000 reasonably suspected to be proceeds of international investment scams. Gunn admitted to transferring bank cheques containing these funds to an associate after being notified of suspicious activity and fraud reports while Mormarkets' accounts were active. The matter is scheduled for sentencing in the Downing Centre Local Court on 22 July 2026, where Gunn faces a maximum penalty of one year imprisonment or a $12,600 fine.
