The Central Bank of Lebanon issued Intermediary Circular 12772 to amend Decision No. 6116, granting banks exceptional permission to utilize housing loan facilities for specific Lebanese Lira-denominated mortgages that previously exceeded regulatory caps. Banks are required to submit applications for this support by April 30, 2018, providing proof of prior approvals, with the support applying to loans granted in 2019 under existing conditions. The circular also mandates the replacement of the original declaration form with a new version to track these subsidized loans and ensures compliance through the Banks Control Commission.
