Sydney gym director convicted of making false statement to ASIC
ASIC reported that Jye Dilin Menzies-Clifton, director of Strong and Co Australia Pty Ltd, was convicted in the Mt Druitt Local Court for authorizing a false deregistration form lodged with the regulator. The charge stemmed from his declaration that the company had no outstanding liabilities while knowing it owed over $72,000 to the Australian Taxation Office and a landlord. Mr Menzies-Clifton pleaded guilty to breaching section 1308(1) of the Corporations Act and was released on a 12-month good behaviour bond without further penalty.
