Perth fraudster Chris Marco sentenced to 14 years imprisonment
The Supreme Court of Western Australia has sentenced Chris Marco to 14 years imprisonment for 43 fraud offences involving over $34 million from six investors. ASIC Deputy Chair Sarah Court described the sentence as the highest imposed by an Australian court in relation to an ASIC criminal investigation, highlighting the deliberate and sustained nature of Marco's deceit. Marco was convicted following a four-year ASIC investigation and trial, while his former executive assistant was acquitted of all charges.
