Law No. (23) of 2022
The Cabinet issued Law No. (23) of 2022 to establish a dedicated Cybersecurity Department within the Ministry of Interior, operating under the General Directorate for Information Technology. The legislation grants the new department an independent budget and exempts it from standard civil service regulations under Law No. (15) of 2019, enabling a specialized administrative framework. The Minister of Interior is authorized to implement the law and issue necessary regulations, with full legal effect commencing upon publication in the Official Gazette.
