The Governor of the Bank of Lebanon issued Circular No. 517 on January 30, 2019, to amend the Loan Type Codes table within the Central Office of Credit Risk system established by Basic Decision No. 7705. This regulatory update replaces the existing Arabic and French codes with a new, comprehensive list to standardize the classification of various loan categories, including residential, productive sector, and specialized financing. The amended decision entered into force immediately upon issuance and was published in the Official Gazette.
