ASIC Chair Joe Longo not seeking reappointment
ASIC Chair Joe Longo has formally notified the Treasurer that he will not seek an extension to his term, which concludes on 31 May 2026. During his tenure, Longo oversaw a significant organizational restructure that resulted in doubled investigations, increased civil enforcement proceedings, and secured funding for critical business registers. In the remaining months of his term, ASIC will continue its enforcement focus on superannuation misconduct, finalize the independent review of the ASX, and advance efforts to simplify regulation.
