The Central Bank of Lebanon, via Intermediary Decision No. 13555 issued by Governor Riad T. Salamah, amends Basic Decision No. 13548 to authorize banks to issue Lebanese Lira checks drawn on current accounts for electronic money settlement, capping single check values at 190 billion Lira. The decision extends the authorized trading and exclusive settlement period for electronic money effective from June 12, 2023. It takes immediate effect upon issuance and is published in the Official Gazette.
