Former Berndale Director Stavro D’Amore Pleads Guilty to Dishonest Conduct and Misusing Company Funds

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) reports that former Berndale Capital Securities director Stavro D’Amore has pleaded guilty to dishonesty offences involving the illegal transfer of nearly $700,000 in retail client funds. D’Amore admitted to misusing his position, engaging in dishonest conduct within a financial services business, and authorizing false statements submitted to ASIC between 2017 and 2018. The matter is being prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, with sentencing scheduled for July 2026 following the collapse of the firm and the cancellation of its license.
