Central Bank of Lebanon Circular No. 7926 Concerning Reserve Requirements, Statistics Reports, and Regulatory Rules for Bank Investments in Foreign Currencies

The Central Bank of Lebanon issued Circular No. 12773 on March 16, 2018, to amend the fundamental decisions governing mandatory reserves, statistical reports, and the application rules for bank investments in foreign currencies. This regulation updates specific reporting templates (Forms 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, 5/5, and 1MMO) to redefine liabilities subject to reserve requirements and detail allowable deductions based on various loan categories and incentive programs. The amendments establish precise calculation methods for reserve ratios and deduction percentages for loans supporting production, housing, and environmental projects, ensuring alignment with current monetary policy frameworks.
