ASIC announced that Richard Evans, the former CEO of collapsed ASX-listed company Big Un Limited, has pleaded guilty to communicating inside information in the Sydney District Court. The offence involved disclosing details about customer onboarding and a $20 million funding arrangement to a shareholder in January 2017, leading to a sentencing hearing scheduled for August 2026. This conviction is part of ASIC's broader enforcement efforts against insider trading, which has resulted in 46 criminal convictions since 2009 and includes ongoing proceedings against other former Big Un executives.
