The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has permanently banned former financial adviser and credit representative Aristotle Papapavlou from providing financial services or engaging in credit activities due to dishonest, misleading, and unprofessional conduct. ASIC found that Papapavlou was complicit in a flawed advice process involving unlicensed third-party referrers and falsified references, prioritizing his own remuneration over clients' best interests while operating with Venture Egg. The banning order, effective from 1 April 2026, prohibits him from controlling or performing functions in financial services and credit businesses, with affected clients advised to lodge complaints with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority or visit dedicated support websites.
