ASIC permanently bans former private lending directors Andrew Spira over fraud conviction
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has permanently banned Andrew Spira from the financial services and credit industries following his conviction for fraud by a Darwin court. The ban, which took effect on 19 November 2025, prohibits Spira from providing financial services, controlling entities in these sectors, or performing related functions due to his dishonest obtaining of financial advantages. Although Spira initially appealed the decision to the Administrative Review Tribunal, he withdrew his appeal in May 2026, leaving the permanent ban in place.
