Former financial advisor Anthony Torre sentenced to six years imprisonment for fraud and stealing
The District Court of Western Australia sentenced former financial advisor Anthony Paul Torre to six years imprisonment for stealing and fraud involving the misappropriation of $1,030,000 from clients' superannuation funds. The sentencing follows Torre's guilty plea to five charges, with the court highlighting the gross breach of trust and financial devastation caused to vulnerable elderly victims. As a result of his conviction, Torre is automatically disqualified from managing companies for five years, and the matter was prosecuted by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions following an investigation by ASIC.
