G1/2015: Status of previously issued guidance notes
The South African Reserve Bank’s Registrar of Banks issues this annual directive to confirm the continued validity of twenty-one previously published guidance notes spanning 2008 to 2014, while establishing that the first guidance note of each calendar year will serve as the definitive status update for all prior regulatory directives. Banks, foreign branches, controlling companies, and their auditors must retain copies of the listed effective notes and ensure that the accompanying acknowledgment of receipt is jointly signed by the institution’s chief executive officer and independent auditors before submission. All other previously issued guidance notes are automatically deemed withdrawn unless explicitly reaffirmed in this annual notification.
