G7/2017: Capital standard for bank exposures to central counterparties, the standardised approach for measuring counterparty credit risk exposures and capital requirements for banks’ equity investments in funds

The South African Reserve Bank issued Guidance Note 7/2017 to announce the postponement of the implementation date for amended banking regulations concerning capital standards for central counterparty exposures, counterparty credit risk, and equity investments in funds. Originally scheduled for 1 September 2017, the new deadline is delayed to a later date following consultations with key industry players and consideration of their feedback on the proposed directive. The Reserve Bank will communicate the revised implementation timeline to relevant stakeholders in due course.
