Central Bank of Tunisia Circular to Approved Intermediaries No. 2018-13 of December 21, 2018

The Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia has issued Circular No. 2018-13 to repeal the October 2017 directive governing financing conditions for non-priority product imports. This updated regulation aligns with recent amendments to the Exchange and Foreign Trade Code, banking laws, and relevant government decrees. The circular takes effect immediately upon notification following the Compliance Control Committee's formal opinion.

Tunis, December 21, 2018 CIRCULAR TO APPROVED INTERMEDIARIES No. 2018-13 OBJECT: Circular to Approved Intermediaries No. 2017-09 of October 27, 2017, regarding the financing conditions for the importation of non-priority products. The Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia, Having regard to the Exchange and Foreign Trade Code promulgated by Law No. 76-18 of January 21, 1976, consolidating and codifying the legislation governing exchange and foreign trade regulating relations between Tunisia and foreign countries, as amended by subsequent texts and notably the decree-law No. 2011-98 of October 24, 2011; Having regard to Law No. 2016-35 of April 25, 2016 establishing the status of the Central Bank of Tunisia; Having regard to Law No. 2016-48 of July 11, 2016, concerning banks and financial institutions; Having regard to Decree No. 77-608 of July 27, 1977 setting the application conditions for the aforementioned Exchange Code, as amended by subsequent texts and notably Government Decree No. 2017-393 of March 28, 2017; Having regard to Circular No. 94-14 of September 14, 1994, concerning the financial settlement of imports and exports of goods, as amended by subsequent texts; Having regard to Circular to Approved Intermediaries No. 2017-09 of October 27, 2017, regarding the financing conditions for the importation of non-priority products, as amended by Circular to Approved Intermediaries No. 2018-01 of March 1, 2018; Having regard to the opinion of the Compliance Control Committee No. 2018-21 of December 19, 2018, as provided for in Article 42 of Law No. 2016-35 of April 25, 2016 establishing the status of the Central Bank of Tunisia; Decides: Article 1: Circular No. 2017-09 dated October 27, 2017, regarding the financing conditions for the importation of non-priority products, is hereby repealed.
