Decision on Issuing Commemorative Coins – Alloys
The Central Bank of Montenegro issued a decision to release commemorative nickel and bronze coins marking its 2002 operational anniversary. The decree specifies the production of 5,000 pieces each for denominations of 1, 2, 10, and 20 para, detailing their precise alloy weights, diameters, and distinct obverse and reverse designs. The decision further establishes that the coins will be sold at prices determined by the Central Bank and outlines packaging protocols via separate administrative acts.

Pursuant to Article 17 paragraph 1 point 2 of the Central Bank of Montenegro Law (OGRM
52/00, 47/01), the Central Bank of Montenegro Council, at its meeting held on 15 August 2002,
passed the following
DECISION
on Issuing Commemorative Coins – Alloys
- The Central Bank of Montenegro (hereinafter: the Central Bank) shall issue, on the
occasion of celebrating the anniversary of starting its operations in 2002, commemorative
nickel and bronze coins - Principality – Kingdom, in denominations of 1, 2, 10, and 10 para.
- The commemorative nickel and bronze coins (hereinafter: the coins) referred to in point 1
herein shall be issued in denominations of 1, 2, 10, and 10 para and in the quantity of 5,000
pieces each.
- The coins referred to in point 1 herein shall be made of nickel and bronze alloy with
following respective weights and diameters:
20 para - 4.00 g, diameter 21 mm
10 para - 3.00 g, diameter 19 mm
2 para - 3.33 g, diameter 19 mm
1 para - 1.66 g, diameter 17 mm
- The obverse of the coins referred to in point 1 herein shall be as follows: in the center of a
coin there is Montenegrin coat of arms - a two-headed eagle with spread wings with the
scepter in its right and the globe with a cross in its left claw, Montenegrin crown is above
the eagle’s head and the lion in motion is on the shield on the eagle’s breast.
- The reverse of the coins referred to in point 1 herein shall be as follows: in the center of a
coin there is a designation of a coin value stated by a number and text PARA. In the upper
part of the coin there is Cyrillic text “Knjazevina - Kraljevina Crna Gora”. The year of minting
2002 is stated along the lower edge of the rim.
- The coins referred to in point 1 herein shall be sold at the price determined by the Central
Bank.
- The manner of packaging (the structure of the collections) of the coins shall be determined
by a special decision of the Central Bank.
- This decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official
Gazette of the Republic of Montenegro.
