D1/2012: Information Requirements for Securitisation Applications

The South African Reserve Bank issued Directive 1/2012 to enhance regulatory oversight of securitisation activities following the global financial crisis. The directive mandates that all applicants, including banks and non-banking institutions, must submit a specified information sheet with every new application for a securitisation scheme. This requirement aims to improve transparency and enable the Registrar to accurately evaluate risk factors and capital treatment based on economic substance.
