## INFORMATION CIRCULAR PF 2/2006

> **Extension for the submission of financial statements by underwritten funds for the 2006 financial year in terms of section 33 of the Pension Funds Act, 1956.**

This information circular seeks to ensure that the electronic submission of financial statements to the Registrar’s office in terms of the new format contained in Gazette number 28881 and 28884 published on 30 May 2006 is done.

Since this Office would need to continue with the practice of electronic submissions of financial statements by funds, we hereby grant extension to all underwritten funds until **31 August 2007** for the submission of their **2006 annual financial statements** as gazetted.

Kindly note that no further extension will be considered as this general extension should suffice even for underwritten funds submitting audited returns for the first time. In this regard, this Office has been working closely with the auditing profession for some time now.

Therefore, penalties for the late submission of financials after 31 August 2007 will be due and payable on our invoice as these will be levied as a result of non-compliance with section 15 read with regulation 26 of the Act.
