Data Protection Regulations (Substantial Public Interest Conditions) Rules 2025
The Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Global Market issued these Rules to define specific conditions under which Special Categories of Personal Data may be processed for reasons of substantial public interest. The regulations establish criteria for processing data in insurance contexts, requiring necessity and, in certain cases, the inability to reasonably obtain consent. Additionally, the Rules permit processing without consent to safeguard children and at-risk individuals from neglect or harm when consent is unobtainable or would prejudice protection efforts.
