Instruction No. 001-DOM/2016 on the Central Bank's Key Rate

The Governor of the Central Bank of Madagascar has issued Instruction No. 001-DOM/2016 to reduce the key rate from 8.70 percent to 8.30 percent, effective May 15, 2016. Based on the amended 1994 Central Bank statutes and the October 2014 appointment decree, this directive formally lowers monetary policy rates. The single-article measure immediately implements the adjustment to align with current regulatory frameworks and economic conditions.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Madagascar, Having regard to the amended Law No. 94-004 of June 10, 1994 on the statutes of the Central Bank of Madagascar, Having regard to Decree No. 2014-1684 of October 29, 2014 on the appointment of the Governor of the Central Bank of Madagascar, HAS DECIDED:

Single Article: The key rate of the Central Bank is reduced from 8.70 to 8.30 percent, effective May 15, 2016.
