Limited Partnership (Amendment) Act, 2024 Commencement Notice

The Minister of Financial Services, Economic Development and Digital Transformation issued this notice to appoint December 10, 2024, as the effective date for specific provisions of the Limited Partnership (Amendment) Act, 2024. The declaration brings into force a comprehensive list of sections from the Act, including Sections 2, 3, 6(b), 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14(a) and (b), 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30(d), 31, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, and 40. This action fulfills the statutory requirement under Section 1(2) of the Act to commence its operation via a notice published in the Gazette.

VIRGIN ISLANDS STATUTORY INSTRUMENT 2024 NO. 64 LIMITED PARTNERSHIP (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2024 (No. 23 of 2024) A NOTICE MADE BY THE MINISTER OF FINANCIAL SERVICES, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION UNDER SECTION 1 OF THE LIMITED PARTNERSHIP (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2024 DECLARING THE DATE ON WHICH CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE SAID ACT SHALL COME INTO FORCE [Gazetted 12th December, 2024] WHEREAS it is provided by section 1(2) of the Limited Partnership (Amendment) Act, 2024 (No. 23 of 2024) that the said Act shall come into force on such date as the Minister may, by Notice published in the Gazette, appoint; WHEREAS section 16(2) of the Interpretation Act (Cap. 136) provides that where an enactment is to commence or come into operation on a day specified by a notice made under the enactment, the notice may specify different days for different provisions of the enactment to come into operation; NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers vested in me, I hereby appoint the 10th day of December, 2024 to be the date on which the following provisions of the Limited Partnership (Amendment) Act, 2024 shall come into force:
