The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has officially recognized Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin as compliant crypto tokens under GEN Rule 3A.4.1 of its Rulebook. This initial list takes effect on 1 November 2022 and remains valid until further notice, with all provisions construed according to the DFSA's standard glossary. Regulated firms may now utilize these three digital assets for compliance, eliminating the need for case-by-case token approvals.

NOTICE OF INITIAL LIST OF RECOGNISED CRYPTO TOKENS
THE DFSA HEREBY GIVES NOTICE THAT :
In accordance with GEN Rule 3A.4.1 of the DFSA Rulebook, the following Crypto Tokens are recognised by the DFSA:
Bitcoin (BTC);
Ethereum (ETH); and
Litecoin (LTC).
EFFECTIVE PERIOD
This Notice comes into effect on 1 November 2022 and remains in effect until further notice.
INTERPRETATION
The provisions in this notice are to be construed in accordance with GEN section 6.2 as if these provisions are provisions of the Rulebook. Defined terms are identified in this notice by the capitalisation of the initial letter of a word or of each word in a phrase and are defined in the Glossary module. Unless the context otherwise requires, where capitalisation of the initial letter is not used, an expression has its natural meaning.
