Decision on Handling Suspected Counterfeit Money
The Executive Board of the National Bank of Serbia issued this Decision to establish standardized procedures for licensed entities to verify the authenticity of money and handle suspected counterfeit currency. It mandates that suspected counterfeits be temporarily seized, reported to the Ministry of Interior, and submitted to the NBS for expertise, while outlining specific protocols for the manual and automatic processing of euro-denominated cash.
