Circular No. 33/2025: Christmas and New Year Holidays

The Palestine Monetary Authority issued Circular No. 33/2025 designating December 25, 2025, January 1, 2026, and January 7, 2026, as official holidays for all payment service companies operating in Palestine. This directive, grounded in Legislative Decree No. 41 of 2022 and an approved Cabinet decision, mandates the closure of payment service operations on these dates to observe Western Christmas, the New Year, and Eastern Christmas. The circular concludes with seasonal greetings and a formal prayer for the realization of Palestinian statehood with Jerusalem as its capital.

To all payment service companies operating in Palestine

Subject: Christmas and New Year Holidays

Based on the provisions of Legislative Decree No. (41) of 2022 concerning National Payments, and pursuant to the approved Cabinet decision, it has been decided to designate the following holidays and occasions as official holidays for all payment service companies operating in Palestine, as follows:

  • Thursday, December 25, 2025, on the occasion of Western Christmas.
  • Thursday, January 1, 2026, on the occasion of the New Year.
  • Wednesday, January 7, 2026, on the occasion of Eastern Christmas.

On these occasions, I extend my congratulations to all employees of payment service companies in Palestine, and we pray to God that He may return these days to our Palestinian people with the realization of their aspirations for establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its holy capital.
