Amendment to Banking Act Directions No. 8 of 2007 on Maximum Amount of Accommodation for Licensed Specialised Banks

The Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka issued Banking Act Directions No. 3 of 2014 to amend the maximum accommodation limits for licensed specialised banks. The updated Direction 5 caps the aggregate outstanding accommodation to specific customer categories at 55 percent of a bank's total outstanding accommodation, provided their individual exposure exceeds 15 percent of the capital base. The regulation explicitly excludes government exposures and board-approved excess accommodations from this calculation.
