Financial Markets Division NPSD Circular 03/2026 on QR Code Payments
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s National Payment Systems Department issued Circular 03/2026 to operationalize its finalized QR Code Payments Guideline. Payment Service Providers and participant banks must align their platforms, mobile applications, and processing infrastructure with EMVCo global QR standards to ensure seamless interoperability across banks, mobile money operators, and all PSPs. Institutions are further required to actively promote stakeholder awareness and implement the attached regulatory framework immediately following its March 2026 release.
