Decision on the Issuance of Convertible Mark Banknotes Denominated at 10, 20, 50, and 100 Convertible Marks

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision on September 30, 2019, to put into circulation 2019 edition banknotes denominated at 10, 20, 50, and 100 Convertible Marks in both Federation and Republika Srpska versions. The decision mandates that all public and private institutions and individuals must accept these banknotes as legal tender at their nominal value for cash transactions throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The regulation entered into force on the eighth day following its publication in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other relevant official journals.

CENTRAL BANK OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Pursuant to Article 2, paragraph 3, item h., Article 7, item a), Article 39, and Article 45 of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of BiH", nos. 1/97, 29/02, 13/03, 14/03, 09/05, 76/06, and 32/07), the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 12th session held on September 30, 2019, adopts

DECISION

on the Issuance of Convertible Mark Banknotes

Denominated at 10, 20, 50, and 100 Convertible Marks

Article 1. (Initial Provisions)

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina has printed Convertible Mark (hereinafter: KM) banknotes in denominations of 10, 20, 50, and 100 KM, issued in 2019, in the version of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the version of the Republika Srpska.

Article 2. (Basic Features and Design of KM Banknotes)

The KM banknotes referred to in Article 1 of this Decision have basic features and design as fully established by the Decision on Basic Features and Design of Convertible Mark Banknotes Denominated at 10, 20, 50, and 100 Convertible Marks ("Official Gazette of BiH", nos. 22/11 and 49/18).

Article 3. (Year of Issue of KM Banknotes)

The KM banknotes referred to in Article 1 of this Decision are printed with the year of issue "2019".

Article 4. (Legal Tender)

Both versions of the KM banknotes in this Decision are, under the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, equal in status, and all public and private institutions and establishments, legal entities, and natural persons are obliged to accept them at their nominal value as legal tender when offered in cash transactions, i.e., in settlement and payment of any obligations towards them, throughout the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Article 5. (Issuance of KM Banknotes)

Upon the entry into force of this Decision, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina will, through the Central Office, main units, and branches, issue the banknotes from this Decision successively, in accordance with the inventory of banknote stocks and the plan for issuing banknotes into circulation.

Article 6. (Entry into Force)

This Decision shall enter into force on the eighth day from the date of publication in the "Official Gazette of BiH", and it shall also be published in the "Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH", the "Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska", and the "Official Gazette of the Brčko District of BiH".
