International Trade Zone (Conditions of Employment) Order, 1997
The Minister of Finance and Communications issued this Order to establish comprehensive employment conditions for workers within International Trade Zones. It mandates maximum working hours of sixty per week or twelve per day, guarantees thirty-six consecutive rest hours weekly, and requires double pay or alternative holidays for work on public holidays. The Order further secures twenty-one days of paid annual leave, up to thirty days of paid sick leave, eight weeks of paid maternity leave, and imposes a five-thousand rupee fine for regulatory breaches.
