Bank of Zambia Circular 6/1997: Publication of Monthly Financial Statements
The Bank of Zambia requires all commercial banks to adopt an amended presentation format for financial statements under section 61(4) of the Banking and Financial Services Act 1994. Effective 30 September 1997, institutions must publish cumulative quarterly positions for assets, liabilities, capital, and income rather than monthly figures, with disclosures due within 30 days of each quarter's close. Each published statement must also contain a notice informing the public that detailed month-on-month data remains available upon request at every branch.
