Decision on Not Issuing the 1 Convertible Mark Banknote

The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision prohibiting the circulation of the 1 Convertible Mark banknote designed by the Republic of Srpska due to a printing error in the name of author Ivo Andrić. The affected banknotes are declared not to be legal tender, and their specific serial numbers are listed in an annex to the decision. The Board mandated that new prints of this denomination must adhere to the corrected design specifications established in the original issuance decision.

Based on Article 7, point e, and Article 39 of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina", 1/97), the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 10th meeting held on June 30, 1998, adopts

D E C I S I O N on the non-issuance of the banknote denominated at 1 Convertible Mark

  1. The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina shall not issue into circulation the banknote denominated at 1 Convertible Mark of the design of the Republic of Srpska, which was issued pursuant to the Decision on the Issuance and Circulation of Convertible Mark Banknotes, Governing Board No.: 11/98 dated May 28, 1998 ("Official Gazette of BiH", 10/98), printed with an error in the name of the writer Ivo Andrić on the face of the banknote. The serial numbers of the banknote referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article are contained in the specification which is an integral part of this Decision.

  2. The banknote referred to in Article 1 of this Decision shall not be legal tender.

  3. The printing of the new banknote denominated at 1 Convertible Mark of the design of the Republic of Srpska shall be carried out in accordance with the design established by the Decision on the Issuance and Circulation of Convertible Mark Banknotes, Governing Board No.: 11/98 dated May 28, 1998 ("Official Gazette of BiH", 10/98).

  4. This Decision shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazettes of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Republic of Srpska.
