Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina enacted amendments to the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina to modify reserve requirement regulations. The changes remove currency-specific language from Article 36, allowing reserve calculations to apply regardless of the currency in which funds are denominated. The law entered into force on May 20, 2003, following its publication in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina PUBLISHED: ("Official Gazette of BiH", 13/03)

Based on Article IV. 4. a) of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the session of the House of Representatives held on April 22, 2003, and at the session of the House of Peoples held on April 23, 2003, adopted

LAW ON AMENDMENTS AND SUPPLEMENTS TO THE LAW ON THE CENTRAL BANK OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Article 1. In the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of BiH", No.: 1/97 and 29/02), in Article 36, paragraph 1:

  • the words: "in Convertible Marks" are deleted,
  • the words: "between 10 and" are replaced with the word: "up to",
  • and the words: "expressed in Convertible Marks" are replaced with the words: "regardless of the currency in which the funds are expressed".

In paragraph 2, the words: "cash or" are deleted.

Paragraph 3 is amended and reads: "3. The Board of Governors shall determine by regulation the fee that the Central Bank pays to banks on the amount of reserves."

Article 2. This Law shall enter into force on the day following the day of its publication in the "Official Gazette of BiH", and shall be published in the official gazettes of the Entities and the Brčko District.
