The Bank of Ghana issued this Directive to mandate all regulated financial service providers, including banks and payment service providers, to establish comprehensive disability inclusion policies ensuring equitable access to financial products and services. Financial institutions must implement non-discrimination practices, ensure physical and digital accessibility through features like braille ATMs and sign language support, collect disability-specific customer data with prior consent, and conduct annual staff training and financial literacy initiatives. Providers are required to submit annual disability inclusion reports by January 31, face administrative penalties of at least two thousand penalty units for non-compliance, and remain subject to Bank-issued remedial actions and public compliance ratings.
