Circular Letter No. CC/2025/00000036 on ESG Risk Management

Banco de Portugal issued Circular Letter No. CC/2025/00000036 to disseminate guidelines on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risk management in compliance with EBA/GL/2025/01. This document supplements the supervisory expectations regarding climate and environmental risks previously defined in Circular Letter No. 10/2021. It applies to credit institutions and establishes binding requirements for the integration of ESG risks into their governance and risk management frameworks.
