Limited Partnerships (Amendment) Act 2020

The President and National Assembly of Seychelles enacted this Act to amend Section 16(1) of the Limited Partnerships Act (Cap 281). The legislation modifies paragraph (c) and inserts a new provision requiring limited partnerships to maintain their register of beneficial owners under the Beneficial Ownership Act, 2020. The statute takes effect on a date appointed by the Minister of Finance through an official Gazette notice.

LIMITED PARTNERSHIPS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2020 (Act 9 of 2020) AN ACT to amend the Limited Partnerships Act (Cap 281). ENACTED by the President and the National Assembly.

  1. This Act may be cited as the Limited Partnerships (Amendment) Act, 2020 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister of Finance may appoint by Notice published in the Gazette. Amendment of Cap 281 2. Section 16 (1) of the Limited Partnerships Act is hereby amended as follows — (a) in paragraph (c), by repealing the words “or” after the words “reputation of Seychelles;”;

(b) after paragraph (c), insert the following paragraph — “(ca) a limited partnership has failed to maintain the register of beneficial owners under the Beneficial Ownership Act, 2020; or”.
