BEAC Launches MyStandard Portal for ISO 20022 Message Formats

The Bank of the States of Central Africa (BEAC) has launched the MyStandard portal to facilitate the migration of the International Financial Community to the ISO 20022 standard within its SYGMA real-time gross settlement system. Participants must join the closed "CEMAC-BANK" community, adapt their information systems to the new proprietary message formats, and ensure compliance with the 29 published MX messages across administrative, payment, and cash management categories. All payment system participants are required to complete this integration within one month of the circular's effective date, with access granted only after administrative validation of their institutional domain.

BEAC BANK OF THE STATES OF CENTRAL AFRICA Yaoundé, 11 NOV 2025 CIRCULAR LETTER N° IGF(I2O25 Regarding the online launch of the access portal to « MyStandard » for BEAC ISO 20022 formats

As part of the migration of the International Financial Community to the ISO 20022 standard, by Instruction N° 00VGV2025 of 17 November 2025, the Bank of the States of Central Africa (BEAC) has undertaken the modernization of its domestic environment through the adoption and implementation of this international standard in the RTGS SYGMA real-time gross settlement system.

SYGMA version 10, currently being deployed, introduces a proprietary format compliant with ISO 20022, to which participants' information systems must adapt to ensure exchange compatibility.

To facilitate the implementation of the standard and ensure harmonious compliance, BEAC makes the message specifications uploaded to the SWIFT MyStandard portal available to participants.

  1. Portal Description The MyStandard portal is a collaborative web platform developed by SWIFT, allowing regulators or payment system managers to create, publish, and share ISO 20022 message specifications. BEAC has created a closed community named « CEMAC-BANK » on it, access to which requires a prior request and approval by the portal administrators. Once access is validated, users can:
  • view the structure and drafting rules of BEAC's ISO 20022 messages;
  • access available message examples;
  • upload and test files generated by their internal systems;
  • verify their compliance with the BEAC standard.

Once logged in, a search for the "CEMAC-BANK" community in the "Communities" tab must be performed, followed by an access request by clicking the "Request Access" button. The request will then be reviewed and validated by BEAC administrators, subject to recognition of the requester's institutional domain, and potentially the justification associated with the request. After validation, participants will be able to access: o the BEAC_SYGMA_ISO20022 collection containing all MX messages expected in SYGMA; o comments and rules applicable to each message; o message examples; o compliance testing tools integrated into the portal. All participants in BEAC's payment systems are invited to join the "CEMAC-BANK" community within a maximum period of one (1) month from the effective date of this note.
