Issuing the Executive Regulations for the Law of Compulsory Insurance for Civil Liability Arising from Accidents of Rapid Transport Vehicles within the Arab Republic of Egypt, issued by Law No. 72 of 2007
Having reviewed the Constitution; And the Traffic Law issued by Law No. 66 of 1973; And the Law of Supervision and Control over Insurance in Egypt issued by Law No. 10 of 1981; And the Law of Compulsory Insurance for Civil Liability Arising from Accidents of Rapid Transport Vehicles within the Arab Republic of Egypt issued by Law No. 72 of 2007; And the Presidential Decision No. 231 of 2004 regarding the organization of the Ministry of Investment; And what the State Council deemed appropriate;
The provisions of the Executive Regulations for the Law of Compulsory Insurance for Civil Liability Arising from Accidents of Rapid Transport Vehicles within the Arab Republic of Egypt, attached hereto, shall be implemented.
This Decision shall be published in the Egyptian Gazette, and shall be implemented from the day following its publication date.

The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Insurance Regulatory Authority shall issue a model for the insurance document specific to rapid transport vehicles. Each vehicle shall have its own specific insurance document. Insurance documents shall be issued in three original copies: the insured shall keep one copy, the insurance company shall keep another copy, and the third copy along with its renewal documents shall be deposited in the vehicle's file at the competent traffic unit.
In the event of the transfer of vehicle ownership to another party, the original or renewed insurance policy shall remain valid for the new owner for the remaining period. The previous owner of the vehicle must notify the insurance company holding the policy via a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt of the ownership transfer fact, attaching the following documents:
Proof of disability arising from accidents of rapid transport vehicles shall be established by the competent medical authority, and the insurance amount shall be disbursed according to the percentages indicated in the table attached to these regulations.

The insurance amount prescribed by law shall be disbursed to the beneficiaries. Disbursement may be made to their representatives via a special power of attorney, provided that the following conditions are met:
The Public Prosecution shall notify the insured company of the accident requiring compensation via a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt within ten days from the date of its notification of the occurrence of the accident.
The insured or their representative is obligated to notify the insurance company of the accident requiring compensation via a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt or a memorandum recorded in the register prepared for this purpose at the company within fifteen days from the date of the accident. The injured party may also notify the company within the aforementioned period of the occurrence of the accident, attaching the documents related to it.
If the injured person dies in the accident or the disability arising from it becomes permanent within one year from the date of its occurrence, and it is proven by a certificate issued by the competent medical authority that the death or permanent disability was a result of the accident, the insurance company must pay the insurance amount prescribed by law or complete the amount previously disbursed to reach this limit.
