The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued this Decision to authorize the circulation of 1 and 2 Convertible Mark coins as legal tender. The regulation specifies the metallurgical composition, precise physical dimensions, and distinct obverse and reverse designs for each denomination. The Decision establishes the legal framework for these coins and mandates their publication in official gazettes to take effect upon publication.
CENTRAL BANK OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
Pursuant to Article 2, paragraph 3, item h., Article 7, item e., Article 39, and Article 42 of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of BiH", No. 1/97) and the Decision of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina of December 8, 1999, on the design of coins, the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 11th session held on June 23 and 28, 2000, adopts
DECISION on the issuance, basic characteristics, and circulation of coins of 1 and 2 Convertible Marks
The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (hereinafter: the Central Bank) shall issue coins in denominations of 1 and 2 Convertible Marks (hereinafter: KM), as legal tender for cash payments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Coins of 1 KM shall be made of nickel-plated steel alloy, and coins of 2 KM shall be made of two metals: an inner ring of copper-nickel and an outer ring of 5.5% nickel alloy of copper and zinc (brass).
The coin denominations specified in item 1 of this Decision shall be circular and have the following technical characteristics:
The appearance of the obverse of the coins specified in item 1 of this Decision is as follows: In the center is the numerical value, and below the numerical value is the letter designation "KM". Around the numerical value is inscribed the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina"; for the 1 KM denomination, the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" is written in Latin script to the right of the numerical value and in Cyrillic script to the left, and for the 2 KM denomination, the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" is inscribed within the outer ring, with Cyrillic script to the right of the numerical value and Latin script to the left, separated by one triangle for the 1 KM denomination and two triangles for the 2 KM denomination.
The appearance of the reverse of the coins specified in item 1 of this Decision is as follows:
For the 1 KM denomination, the Coat of Arms of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the center, and below the Coat of Arms is the numerical designation "2000". Around the Coat of Arms, on the right and left sides, is a decorative pattern separated by one triangle.
For the 2 KM denomination, a dove with an olive branch in its beak is in the center, and to the right of the dove is the numerical designation "2000". Within the outer ring, the words "dove of peace" are inscribed, with the words "dove of peace" in Cyrillic script to the right of the dove and in Latin script to the left, separated by two triangles.
The date of putting the coins specified in item 1 of this Decision into circulation shall be determined and published by the Governor of the Central Bank.
This Decision shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the "Official Gazette of BiH", and shall also be published in the "Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH" and the "Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska".
