The Bank of Zambia designates November 1, 2017 as the mandatory compliance date for commercial banks and financial service providers to fully implement the 2016 Corporate Governance Directives. Issued by Deputy Governor Bwalya K. E. Ng’andu, the circular incorporates amendments from Gazette Notices 783 and 874 of 2016 alongside Notice 556 of 2017. All regulated entities must achieve complete adherence to the stipulated governance standards by this effective date under Directive No. 27.

DATE OF FULL COMPLIANCE WITH THE BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES CORPORATE GOVERNANCE DIRECTIVES
Reference is made to the Banking and Financial Services Corporate Governance Directives 2016 as amended by Gazette Notice No. 783 and 874 of 2016 as well as Gazette Notice No. 556 of 2017.
Pursuant to Directive No. 27 of the said Directives, the Bank of Zambia hereby designates November 1, 2017 as the effective date for full compliance to the Banking and Financial Services Corporate Governance Directives.
