1 FSCA COMMUNICATION 21 OF 2021 (GENERAL) Notice of Extension of period referred to FSCA Information Request 2 of 2021 (GENERAL): Request for Information Related to Profiles of Licensed Financial Institutions

1. PURPOSE The purpose of this Communication is to inform licensed financial institutions of the Financial Sector Conduct Authority’s (FSCA) decision to extend the timeline to submit the information requested in terms of FSCA Information Request 2 of 2021 (GENERAL).
2. BACKGROUND On 11 October 2021, the FSCA under section 131 of the Financial Sector Regulation Act, 2017 (Act No. 9 of 2017) published a request for information by notice on the FSCA’s website, requiring all licensed financial institutions to verify the information held by the FSCA by logging onto the relevant E-portal through the FSCA’s website and updating the information listed in the notice. In terms of the information request, all licensed financial institutions were required to update / verify the information requested by not later than 15 December 2021.
3. EXTENSION OF DEADLINE TO SUBMIT THE INFORMATION REQUESTED The FSCA has received numerous requests to extend the timeline stipulated in FSCA Information Request 2 of 2021 (GENERAL). After careful consideration of the requests and the reasons provided, the FSCA hereby confirms that an extension has been granted until 31 January 2022. The verification and / or updating of information as referred to in FSCA Information Request 2 of 2021 (GENERAL) must be completed on or before 31 January 2022.
