Central Bank of Seychelles Advisory on Electronic Government Payslips

The Central Bank of Seychelles directs all banks, the Seychelles Credit Union, Development Bank of Seychelles, and Housing Finance Company Limited to accept digitally issued government payslips. This mandate aligns with the Government of Seychelles' transition to email-based electronic payslips for public servants, eliminating reliance on traditional hard copies. Financial institutions must promptly update their verification policies to accommodate this digital shift and prevent customer processing delays.

CENTRAL BANK OF SEYCHELLES P. O. Box 701, Victoria, Seychelles Telephone: [+248] 428 20 00 Ref: FSD/GEN/1 Fax: [+248] 432 36 65 FSD/COVID19/2020 E-mail: enquiries@cbs.sc Date: July 13 2020 To all Banks, Seychelles Credit Union (SCU), Development Bank of Seychelles (DBS) and Housing Finance Company Limited (HFCL) Government of Seychelles Issuing Payslips Electronically Reference is made to the above. Kindly be advised that the Government of Seychelles (GoS), through the Treasury Department of the Ministry of Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning - and with the support of the Department of Information, Communication and Technology - is now issuing all public servant workers their monthly payslips electronically via email. This follows the GoS’ initiative to find innovative ways of working in light of the ‘new normal’ since the arrival of the Covid19 pandemic onto our shores, thereby limiting close contact/human interaction. Accordingly, the Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) urges all banks, SCU, DBS and HFCL to ensure acceptance of digital copies of payslips as hard copy on carbonated paper are no longer being provided. Moreover, CBS wishes to highlight that more entities are now striving towards digitalising their processes as well as documents issued. Correspondingly, banks, SCU, DBS and HFCL should remain cognisant of this and adjust their policies accordingly and in a timely manner to avoid any delays and inconveniences to customers. CBS trusts in your understanding of the above and counts on your cooperation for adherence to the above. Yours sincerely, C. Abel (Ms) Governor
