The Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) issued this statement following a qualitative examination of Key Information Documents (KIDs) for packaged retail and insurance-based investment products. The regulator found that manufacturers frequently fail to ensure clarity, comprehensibility, and consistent terminology, resulting in documents that are insufficiently useful for retail investors. Consequently, the FSMA warns that it will take appropriate enforcement measures if the sector does not significantly improve the quality of these disclosures.
