The Capital Markets Authority (Prescription of Securities Instrument) Regulations, 2022

The Capital Markets Authority issued these regulations under sections 1 and 101 of the Capital Markets Authority Act to formally designate commercial paper, depository receipts, and exchange-traded funds as statutory securities. This classification explicitly brings these three financial instruments under the Authority's regulatory oversight and compliance framework. Effective December 2022, the directive standardizes their legal treatment and ensures consistent market regulation across all prescribed instruments.
