The Bank of Slovenia issued this regulation to formally apply the European Banking Authority's Guidelines on remuneration policies related to the sale and provision of retail banking products and services within Slovenia. The measure requires banks, payment institutions, and consumer credit intermediaries to design and implement remuneration practices that protect consumers from undesirable detriment arising from sales staff incentives. The regulation mandates that these entities and the Bank of Slovenia itself fully account for the guidelines when exercising supervisory powers, with the rules becoming applicable on 13 January 2018.
