The Central Bank of Jordan issued Circular Letter No. 49 of 2009 to mandate updated regulatory compliance for licensed banking institutions under the Banking Law No. 67 of 1988. The Central Bank of Jordan, pursuant to the provisions of Article (15) of Banking Law No. (67) of 1988 and its amendments, and after consulting its Board of Directors, and based on the proposal submitted by the General Manager of the Central Bank of Jordan, and under the powers conferred upon it by paragraph (a) of Article (15) of the aforementioned Law, hereby issues this Circular Letter.
This Circular Letter pertains to the application of the provisions of the Executive Regulations of Banking Law No. (67) of 1988 and its amendments regarding banking operations and regulatory compliance.
This Circular Letter shall take effect from the date of its issuance, and replaces Circular Letter No. (15) of the year 2005.
Circular Letter No. (15) of the year 2005 is hereby repealed.
The General Manager of the Central Bank of Jordan is responsible for implementing this Circular Letter.
