ESMA Final Report on Draft Regulatory Technical Standards on European Electronic Access Point

The European Securities and Markets Authority issued final draft Regulatory Technical Standards to establish the technical requirements for the European Electronic Access Point (EEAP) under the Transparency Directive. The EEAP functions as a centralized search portal that redirects users to national Officially Appointed Mechanisms for document access, thereby enhancing transparency without replacing existing national storage systems. The standards mandate specific search criteria and metadata tagging, with full operational readiness required by January 2018 and applicability to new regulated information starting January 2017.
